Portrait of Lady Elizabeth Gage (1683?-1759)
Painted in 1748 by the artist John Theordore Heins (1697-1756) of Norwich, Norfolk.

Signed on the front 'Heins Fec: 1748', lower, sitter's right hand side.
The inscription on the front reads: 'Elizabeth only child of Thomas Rookwood, wife of John Gage.
The inscription on the back reads: 'Elizabeth daughter and sole heir of Thomas Rookwood Esq of Coldham Hall. Wife of John Gage Esq, 3rd son of Sir William Gage 2nd Baronet of . . . [Hengrave?]. She died 30th January 1759 at 76.  Paint by Heins 1748'.
