In addition to the above portrait, the painter John Bostock (1808-1872) may also have painted a portrait of James Stamford Caldwell.  In a letter to Joseph Mayer, John Bostock mentioned that he was visting James Stamford Caldwell at Linley Wood to paint his portrait.  The whereabouts of this portait (if it still exists) are not known.
