Maj Richard Martin Crofton RHA
1854-1899

Born: 8 November 1854 and died 1899.
Son of: Maj Gen Richard Henry Crofton RA (1818-1897) and Francis Mary Crofton (nee Marsh, 1819-1906)
Brother of:
1. Amelia Alicia Anne Isaac (nee Crofton, 1849-19??) who married John Swinton Isaac.
2. Captain Duke Arthur Crofton RN (1850-1917) who married Augusta Maude Lefroy (1854-1938?).
3. Maj Caldwell Henry Crofton RHA (1856-1947) who married Helen Rose Ann Millman.
Richard married: 5th January 1893, Marion Emma Heath (1856-1949), the widow of Maj Alfred Cotton (?-1889).
Richard and Marion did not have any issue.

Became a Gentleman Cadet 15 November 1872 and a Lieutenant 19 August 1875.
Served in Malta 1876 to 1878, then India from late 1878 including the North West Frontier 1897 to 1898.  Made Captain in 1884 and Major in 1892.
