Born: 21 December 1826 at Thorpe in Norfolk and died 2 December 1906, aged 79.
Son of: Maj Gen Sir Robert John Harvey (1785-1860) and Charlotte Mary Lady Harvey (1793- 1869).
Brother of:
1. Julia Sutton nee Harvey (1816-????) who married Capt Samuel Ives Sutton (1807-1850)
2. Sir Robert John Harvey (1817-1870).
3. Daughter Harvey
4. Maria Frances Harvey (1821-1845).
5. John Harvey: presumably Colonel John Edmund Harvey (1822-????) who married Octavia Lettice Stephens.
6. Charles Onley Harvey (18??-1824).
7. Archibald Harvey (18??-1827).
Edward married:
1st: Emma Susanna Chevallier (1828-1886), 27 March 1856, daughter of Rev Clement Chevallier.
2nd: Sophia Elizabeth Beevor (1843-1924), 1896, daughter of Rev William Smythes Beevor and Charlotte Beevor nee Sumpter.
Edward and Emma had issue:
1. Frances Sophia Cooke nee Harvey (1857-19??) who married Frederick William Cooke, son of George Frederick Cooke, of Holmwood, Thorpe, near Norwich.
2. Mary Ethelind Harvey (1858- after 1881).
3. Edward Montague Chevalier Harvey (1861-1933).

1. Information supplied to me by Carla Woodworth Lynas and based on the 'Original Genealogical Collections, by the late Lieut. Col. Robert John Harvey of Thorpe'.  This is mentioned in a publication called 'Walter Rye, Memoir Bibliography and Catalogue of of his Norfolk Manuscripts in the Norwich Public Libraries' by Geo. A. Stephen published in 1929? by the Public Libraries Committee, Norwich.  Original documents in the Norfolk Archives.

Edward was a JP for Norfolk and Suffolk.  He was twice Mayor of Norwich
