Will of Dr Henry Linhooke Helsham
of Stoke Ferry, Norfolk. 1736-1805.

This is the Last Will and Testament of me Henry Linhooke Helsham of Stoke Ferry in the County of Norfolk Surgeon and Apothecary made and wrote with my own hand the twentieth day of May in the year of our Lord One thousand seven hundred and ninety three first and principally I recommend my Soul into the hand of almighty god my Creator hoping for Salvation through his Mercy and the . . . and intercession of his dear Son our Saviour Jesus Christ my Body I direct may be interred in the same Grave with the remains of my late dear Wife and that a Tomb may be erected over us by the direction of my Son.  I give to the poor of the parish of Stoke Ferry aforesaid the Sum of ten pounds to be distributed to them at the discretion of my Executor within three months after my decease then I give and devise all and every my Messuages Lands Tenements and Hereditaments wheresoever situated lying and being in Stoke Ferry aforesaid or in any parish thereof next or near adjoining unto and to the use of my dear son Henry Helsham his Heirs and Assigns for ever then I give all the rest residual and remainder of my personal Estate and Effects of what kind or nature whatsoever the same can or may be found after my death after the payment of my just debts and financial . . . Charges the Expenses of erecting the Tomb and the payment of the Legacy and Administrators and I do hereby nominate and appoint my said Son sole Executor of this my Will and do revoke all former Wills by me made and do declare this to be my last Will and Testament in writing whereof I have hereunto put my hand and seal this day and year first above written H L.Helsham Signed sealed published and declared by the above named Henry Linhooke Helsham the Testator as and for his last Will and Testament in the presence of us who in his presence at his request and in the presence of each other have subscribed our names as Witnesses thereto John Morley, John Henson, Wm Garnery.

This Will as proved at London the third day of December in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred five before the Right Honourable Sir William Wynn Knight Doctor of Laws Master . . . or Commissary of  the prerogative Court of Canterbury lawfully constituted by the oath of Henry Helsham the Son of the deceased and sole Executor named in the said Will to  whom administration of all and singular the Good Chattels and Credits of the  said  deceased was granted he having been first sworn by the Commission duly to administer.
